CONSIDER THIS YOUR ONE AND ONLY WARNING. KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND YOUR HEAD DOWN, ELLA, OR YOU WILL CROSS THAT LINE AND BE FORCED TO SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES THAT FOLLOW.

IF ANY OF YOUR FRIENDS EVER THREATEN ME AGAIN, THEIR BODIES WILL JOIN YOURS.

[Daniel steps on the paper when he comes through the door of 905 with Ella's key. He has a list of things he's supposed to retrieve, and only because he argued Ella down from going down to fetch things on her own. (She made sure none of them were too heavy.) He looks at the paper for a little while, making odd little judgments about the script and indulging in some very strange fantasies about tearing into whoever-it-was with claws he didn't have. He stands there for a good five minutes, staring at it, until finally he crumples the paper into his palm and puts it into his pocket.

Daniel steps all the way into Ella's apartment, and slams the door so hard that curls of dust drip from the ceiling.]
