Are there any academics here? Or researchers or people who work at museums or libraries or things? Or who are really really really good at the internet? I need some research help. Not for, like, homework or anything, but for a personal project. Nothing serious -- well, it's serious for me -- but not, like, you know, cancer research or anything like that.

Like King Arthur and Robin Hood? Are you trying to figure out yours?

YES! I was in a castle, and it was stone and drafty and cold, and I was in these long sort of shapeless dress thing, with furs (ew) and...my hair was long and I had a lady's maid or something. Who was I?????? (This is almost as cool as figuring out who I was in a past life!!)

Thought so! I'm no expert but...were there names or anything that came to mind? When it happened there were things that stood out to me. I, er, - well the man I was involved with kept coming to mind. I searched for him.

Was there anything like that?

I was obsessed with a sheriff -- being caught by him or avoiding him, I can't remember. And I wanted someone who was in danger, or could be in danger...?

You know, there is a Sheriff in Robin Hood.

HA, but who would I be, Maid Marian?! Not!

Why not?

Because she's a princess, sort of, and pretty, and has a boyfriend, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't any of that! I'm never that lucky!!

Maybe you're Robin Hood.

Oh, shush! You saw me, James -- did I look like I was Robin Hood?! Did you figure out who you were?

If it's historical, I might have a few books you can look into.

How will I know if it's historical or not?

If it wasn't modern and it didn't involve anything particularly supernatural, it's probably historical. The medieval period was rife with stories, so you'll have a fun time finding what you're looking for.

Everything so far is based on a written work, so Lotte's tactic is best. Was there anything specific about what you thought, felt or were seeking?

Well, not to be all stereotypical, but I was looking for my prince. Only he wasn't a prince, really, he was kind of wanted -- maybe a...I know know...soldier? Something. I was worried about him getting caught, and I was nervous about my neighbor, Rick, which is totally weird, because he's a cop. I also felt like I shouldn't be outside of my quarters at night, without my serving girl.

He was wanted? Perhaps a criminal of some sort? Soldiers don't tend to come to mind as being wanted.

Do you recall any names?

No, but James and Lotte suggested Robin Hood might be the myth -- but there's no way I could be Maid Marian! That would be too romantic!! I don't remember any names, really, other than being worried about a sheriff. But maybe that's because I live next door to a cop?

How do I research who I was when I don't remember many details?

if you have no concrete leads at all, read until you come across something familiar.
