Rosalie was asleep when the knock came, so she didn't find the CD until she was locking her apartment on the way to class and was greeted by it. Surprised, she pulled it off the door and examined it There was no note, no marks to even indicate what was on it. Unable to contain her curiosity, she snapped her laptop open as soon as she got into her cab and slid the disk in. There was only one track listing and when she selected it, the opening strains of a Tchaikovsky suite screeched out. Rosalie quickly hit the pause button.
Tchaikovsky? Someone had given her a song from-- a ballet, most likely. She closed her laptop, handed some money up to the driver, and stepped out of the cap. She had taken a couple more steps before it hit her that it must be her ballet.
Rosalie fidgeted through two lectures before she reached the hour-and-a-half-long gap in her schedule that usually served as lunch. Today, Rosalie headed to a nearby cafe, where she downloaded the music to Sleeping Beauty, but it took her almost until the end of the ballet before she found the matching strains, which were from one of the fairy tale dances at the end of the wedding. Random.
But she wasn't done. With a sinking feeling, Rosalie restarted the process with the Disney movie, wishing suddenly that whoever had been in charge of the film had not decided to use the same music. It didn't take as long this time to match the tune on her gift to the animated soundtrack. Maleficent rose up in the fireplace, dark and forboding, and Aurora started her walk of doom, entranced. Even though Rosalie must have seen this movie dozens of times, she couldn't take her eyes away from the screen as the princess moved up the stairs, climbing until she reached the top and the eerie ball of green light became a spinning wheel. Aurora reached her hand out to the sparkling needle, still enthralled, and Rosalie slammed shut the laptop, nearly in tears. She took the quickest way home, wishing that any of the people she trusted most were talking to her at the moment. Boyd wasn't, Daniel was angry, Derek was leaving town. Vlad and Ella would think that she was silly for letting an anonymous gift and an animated movie get to her so much. She didn't know what Stefan would think, but chances were that it would be nothing good about a girl who got scared over this. She went back to her apartment but couldn't get drunk, since she had to meet D1 later to find out about Boyd. Instead, she spent the time sleeping, but it didn't help a bit.
