A Note For Dr. Holtz, Slipped Under His Door

At 8:37 on the morning after everything went sideways, Joanie rushed up to the eighth floor in her bare feet, a folded note clutched in one hand. She quietly crouched by apartment 807, slipping the note underneath the door until she could no longer see it from the hallway. The note was written on average notebook paper and folded into thirds - it looked more professional than fourths - with the word "Doctor" written as neatly as possible on its folded front. Inside, the note is handwritten in black ink with sporadic blotches that tell of a flustered writer.

Dear Doctor,

I'm sorry for showing up at your apartment so late the other night the way I did. Whatever had happened to me wasn't your fault, even though I acted like it was. I'm really thankful for the help you gave me, even though I didn't say that at the time. I hope that you're feeling better because you seemed to not be doing well the other night. Thank you again for being very kind to me even though I gave you no reason to be.

Sincerely,
The Green Kid

P.S. I'm really sorry that I don't know your name. I should have asked for it, but I didn't, and I'm sorry about that too.
