The apology isn't necessary, Rosalie. I am walking into a clique which is already formed, and I do understand that. You have cohesive ideas about what would most benefit Daniel, and my communication with him has been... different than his with you. He had no idea who I was when we first spoke, and anonymity is fertile soil for confidences, you see.
I approach the situation from a different angle, that is all. In the end, we all want the same thing, and that is for him to be happy and safe. I understand that Vaughn is a significant threat, but I also know his pride. Treating him like a child without choices and rights of his own, I don't think it's good for his mental state. He is defeated, Rosalie, and he is not a man who is accustomed to having his caregivers cut his meat and potatoes for him.
If it makes his friends dislike me, this concern for his emotions as well as his physical safety, then so be it. With that said, I like you very much, regardless of your feelings for me. And I know Daniel is very lucky to have you and Vlad.
