She was lost. Again.
To be honest, though, it wasn't much of a surprise. Brooke was always lost, always. She just had this awful sense of direction and this knack for darting off after something shiny - the two made a terrible mix that just wound up with her getting lost and scared more often than not. Today wasn't much of an exception. She'd been going in the right direction this time, at least. She'd been trying to head back up to the Hufflepuff Common Room after dipping her feet in the water outside, and when she was about half way there, she'd caught sight of someone she knew walking in the opposite direction. After talking to the girl for about ten minutes, she couldn't remember which way she'd come from and then proceeded to go any which way and was now probably lost somewhere near the dungeons, considering it was rather cold and relatively dark in comparison to the rest of the castle. She'd asked a ghost about two minutes ago if he knew where they were at, but he'd just laughed at her and floated away. She knew there was a reason she'd never liked ghosts.
Brooke tugged her sweatshirt tighter around herself, more out of an almost protective move than because she was cold. Sure, she was cold, but the dungeons always scared her, and hugging herself made it a little less frightening. "Oh dear," she muttered to herself, pulling her Hello Kitty tote bag further up her shoulder. "This is unfortunate." She started digging around in her Hello Kity bag to try and find the map Saydee had drawn for her a few weeks ago. It was a small, not entirely extensive map, but it had been getting her around for the past few weeks nicely enough. However, no matter how much she clawed around in there, she couldn't seem to find it. Which, of course, was bad.
She'd be stuck here forever and ever, stuck wandering around in the dark, scary corridors near the dungeons and no one would ever find her and she'd die and then no one would notice and then she'd never -
Her depressing train of thought was cut short as she walked straight into a boy who was considerably taller than she was and judging by how it hurt a little when she ran full-force into him, was probably pretty strong. She looked up at his face and immediately launched herself at him, hugging him for a brief second before drawing back and beginning to bounce up and down on the balls of her feet. "Oh, oh, this is fantastic!" she said loudly with an excited grin. "Now you'll be able to save me!" she told him, nodding enthusiastically as she tried to still her bouncing. Maybe he didn't like bouncy. She didn't really want to offend the person who might be saving her life too much, after all.
