Slowly, Hayden strolled out onto the Hogwarts grounds, clutching her books to her chest, trying to keep her messenger bag from falling off her shoulder. Reaching her destination, she gently took out the bright purple blanket and set it on the ground, placing her books and things off to one side, sitting down in the middle with her legs curled up underneath her. It was a beautiful day, which was why she wanted to be outside in the first place. There was bright sunshine but a nice breeze as well. There was no way she wanted to be stuck indoors on a day like today.
Grinning slightly, her eyes kept glancing over to the castle entrance. She had a brand new tutoring relationship! This boy’s name was Peyton Avery and she had heard of him. He played Quidditch and was something of a big shot, or at least one of her roommates had said so in a rather dreamy-like manner. What was it about Peyton to make that kind of reaction? Nevermind what it was! Hayden would never act like that. Nodding her head in her own confirmation, she sighed. Peyton was late. She did not like this one bit. She was doing HIM a favor and he could not even show up on time? His manners were not leading a very good impression.
Tossing her hair behind her shoulder, she stood up, deciding to practice a few hula dances while she waited for Peyton to arrive. Raising her arm above her head, her eyes shut as her body began to sway to the beats of home. Oh, how badly she missed Hawaii. The tranquil energy of the island, the rhythmic drums that echoed all the way into one’s soul, resting there to light up from within. Really, she missed everything. Missed waking up earlier and beginning the day with surfing, watching the sun streak across the sky until its rays expanded and fell onto the white and blue foam of the ocean water. Twirling a little, Hayden grinned - as long as she kept the memories alive in her heart, she hadn’t really left the island because the spirit lived within her.
