Adele hadn't really expected it to be, but this was the moment when they were letting each other know what they would and would not accept from each other. She didn't want to have it go unmentioned and wish, later, that she hadn't assumed he would follow it anyway.
"Simple and elegant is generally my preference as well," she said easily. "And you'd be welcome to organize the dinner in any way you think best. I'd like to have a hand in planning the ceremony itself, though I don't intend anything grandiose or elaborate. I simply don't plan on getting married more than once." She smiled. "Would you like to be in touch with me about the dinner plans, then? I don't want to take up too much of your time today."
