Who: Lily & James What: Hanging out after the lake; a date is planned (implied) When: Tuesday, 10 May, 1977; Late Afternoon/Early Evening Where: Lily's House Warnings: G Status: Threaded; Fade to Black
Lily had not rushed her afternoon with Remus despite how worried she was about James being at her house with her mum while Lily was not there. She wasn't worried for the obvious reasons, like thinking her mum might embarrass her or whatever. Honestly, she really didn't care if James saw her baby pictures or knew some of the things she had done when she was a child. What she was really worried about was whether or not her mum would tell him about Petunia, first of all. She tried to keep the serious disrepair of that relationship to herself and she wasn't sure how she would feel if he found out, especially from someone other than her.
The other thing that worried her was that it was very possible her mum might mention Severus. Abigail had not met many of Lily's schoolmates so it was an entirely valid worry that her mum might accidentally try to make connections between them and end up asking James if he knew Severus. She couldn't imagine that would go incredibly well.
So, with all of that in mind, Lily made her way home, shouldered her bag and walked through the front door. There was always a chance that James hadn't actually shown up. The though, instead of ebbing her worries disappointed her instead. She was hoping he'd actually shown up. "I'm home!" she called out, toeing off her shoes as she closed the door behind her.
