Who: Remus & Lily What: Talking about boys! When: Tuesday, 10 May, 1977 Where: At the Lake Warnings: Mentions of arse-cakes ;D
What had happened with James the other day was never far from Lily's mind. She was confused and there was no relief in sight, it seemed. Did she like him? Did she not? Was the kiss a fluke? Would she actually do it again? She had no answers yet, but she wanted to stop thinking about it for at least a little while. That was when she'd gotten Remus to meet her at the lake, deciding a day out was precisely what she needed. Besides, she hadn't seen him since before the full moon and she always like to silently check to see how he was doing after those.
The two were at the lake now and Lily hadn't regaled the entire story of what happened with James to him, yet. She wasn't sure that she wanted to, yet. She'd told him that they had hung out and that he'd made some pretty convincing arguments for his case but that she was mostly just unsure of her verdict at the moment.
But the the first owl had come from James and thus began the humorous yet nerve-wracking exchange of Remus editing what she wrote. After James' second owl, she scribbled out a reply and then let Remus see it to get his opinion. She was prepared to toss the response and start over. She was careful not to reveal details in her owls, though. She and James were already aware of what had happened between them, but she didn't want Remus to get the whole story like that. If she wanted to tell him, she would tell him, not spell it out in an owl for him to see. "What do you think of this?" she asked, ears tinging red, but sounding confident all the same.
