It was really just a taste of the things that were sure to come. With the current political climate and the way things had already changed at Hogwarts, Alice knew they were up against something huge, possibly more than they could have anticipated before Albus had been killed. She had made plenty of jokes about how a lesser man wouldn't have been able to date her, but as true as that was, it would have been terribly difficult to date someone who wasn't in the same line of work as she was. She meant that regarding the Ministry and the Order. What if she'd had to keep that part of her life a secret? At least they were sharing these risks together. At least whatever happened, they both knew.
"I wouldn't doubt it. She probably gave you a curve on your grading," she smirked and tilted her chin forward to press her lips softly against his at his following words. "Who knows, we both might have to go into hiding after this," she said honestly. Who knew who'd been identified? It was a waiting game now and they were both going to walk into the office tomorrow with no idea what people knew about them.
She wrapped her arms around him and held onto him for several long moments, just taking the time to revel in the fact that they were at least both safe right here, right now. "You should get some rest now. If you want to shower, I can make you something to eat and get you some clean clothes."
