After the full moon the night before, James had slept a lot of the day away, and was accustomed to being up late the next night until his sleep schedule had gotten back to normal. It wasn't ideal for heading back to a school that might be full of Death Eaters and wanna-be Death Eaters, but nothing about this was ideal. He did intend to sleep tonight, but he also wanted to enjoy his last bit of time with Lily before he left.
He tightened his arms around her just a little when she spoke, and rested his head against hers. "Probably," he said. Going inside felt a little like admitting defeat, admitting their last night was almost over, but he knew she was right. "I'm going to miss you more than sleep," he said with a laugh. "And that's saying something, because I've been with sleep much longer than you."
