"You think we were a bane on your existence, try putting yourself in the shoes of a Death Eater trying to run the school," James said with a grin, laughing. "We weren't even purposefully trying to annoy you. Most of the time, anyway."
He paused in talking to kiss her when her lips pressed against his, fingers unconsciously tightening in her shirt, eyes closing as he tried to hold on to the feeling of it. Her soft lips, her hair, the warmth of her through her clothes, the scent of her skin and shampoo. He'd gotten very used to seeing her pretty much whenever he wanted; adjusting to not having her around again wasn't going to be easy on him, either. He'd grin and bear it, of course, because missing Lily was unfortunately among the least of their problems right now. This wasn't going to go away, even if he spent time away from her. Of that, he was sure.
Still, he wanted to drink in all of it, fix her presence into his memory. He opened his eyes when he felt her fingers in his hair, and smiled at her. "You're getting on a broom, then," he said happily. "I won't require that you toss any Quaffles, but I will tell you that I would find that really sexy. If you managed to score a goal - well, you'd score points with me, too." He laughed, skin tingling where her mouth brushed over it, and this time it was his turn to lift his head to capture her mouth with his. "I'm willing to negotiate down to cliff diving. And we should both carry cameras around with us until August, to take as many pictures as possible."
