"You're probably right," Lily replied, "I'd much rather be at Hogwarts with you being a pain in my arse than having to hide just so that I can fight." That was a probability, anyway. It was hard to think of herself not missing James now that she would, so maybe she was projecting, she couldn't quite tell. Either way, as hard as it would be with James in the castle and her not, she wouldn't have traded this closeness with him for not having to miss him when he was gone.
Closing her eyes as his lips pressed against various parts of her skin, she turned her head to press her lips against his before saying jokingly, "I believe it. I don't know how you lot have always managed to skirt around detection, aside from that cloak of yours, but you were the bane of my prefect existence." She was kidding, none of them had been the bane of her existence even if it had frustrated her to no end when they got up to something and it was impossible to catch them. It was hard thinking about that, though, because she was going to miss Hogwarts, more than she wanted to admit. She'd not known that last year's ride from King's Cross to Hogsmeade Station would be her last or that she'd never have another new schedule or learn the things seventh years learned or earn her NEWTs. Those were all things she had been so excited for, that first year. Seven years of learning and living in a castle and...there was just so much she was going to miss out on. The young girl in her was more bothered by it than the woman in her who was prepared to fight.
"You can get me on a broom," she grinned, opening her eyes to look at him as she spoke and her fingers curled around his neck to play at his messy hair. "I'm not very good at it. I'm not a natural like you are." Turning her head again, she brushed her nose lightly across his cheek before brushing her lips over his temple. "Skydiving might take more convincing, though. I've never fancied jumping out of an airplane. Unless you meant jumping off a broom which still doesn't immediately appeal to me," she chuckled. "I want to take lots of photos before you leave."
