To say that Lily was worried would be an understatement. She wasn't just worried for herself, though that did factor in, but she was mostly worried for those Muggleborns who had no idea how to read between the Prophet's lines or those who didn't even know yet what Hogwarts even was. She wanted to figure all of it out but knew that a war couldn't be won overnight.
Of course, there was also the fact that James would be leaving for the castle in less than two weeks. She'd thought they had more time together, more time to plan and prepare. All of that was being cut a month short and it was a sudden change. Lily didn't like all of these sudden changes happening in their world.
It was also quite obvious that things weren't looking good for her, either. She wasn't going to register which would have her in trouble, no doubt. And she wasn't going back to mandatory school, which would be just as bad. Add the fact that she was an Order member and she could guess her life would be no cake walk in the months to come.
Glad when James arrived, Lily made her way to him, immediately throwing her arms around his neck as she hugged him tight. Even though they had lots of things to discuss, she knew, there were other things equally important to her at this particular moment, like cherishing the little time the two of them had left alone together.
