Adele didn't really need to be told that much. Although shrouded in secrecy, it was apparent from this conversation that the man behind the rumors existed. Would there still be rumors, if one of his enemies had been a match for him? Then he would be defeated. And, if his influence was growing as Tewdric had indicated, there were probably quite a few things that even she would have noticed changing if that had happened, though she would not necessarily know the source.
It intrigued her, really, to get even the slightest peek behind the curtain, to see the mysterious man, though she was extremely aware of how much danger was involved. No, she did not think she would work for him directly - she had never worked for anyone, and independence was truthfully quite good for her health - but his request did not sound unreasonable.
"I understand," she said, inclining her head slightly. "I would not want to put anyone in danger by knowing too much. I'll admit to being both excited and nervous at the prospect of meeting him, though I'll not decline, of course. I hope I won't disappoint either of you." Especially Tewdric, but disappointing the wizard who had Tewdric's loyalty would disappoint them both.
