Her smile and mood were infectious. Or maybe it was the hint of embarrassment, which Remus wasn't always comfortable with, that made him grin out of defense. Either way, as soon as he caught that look, he couldn't help it - and he even tried to hide it by taking a drink.
"Dancing, really?" That was new. But maybe he'd always known that James would be a gentleman like that. "Sounds really good." The more he thought about it, the more he felt out of the loop. But it was more difficult for him because he was one of the few, if there were any others, that was friends with both Lily and James before now. So he was stuck in the middle, getting information from both sides, or being shut out by them both. But, over all, it was their business and he just wanted them to be happy. Ironically that meant with each other.
Remus swallowed his nonexistent food and found something very interesting to stare at on his plate. "Oh, you know, good," he managed, which made him feel guilty. Only a few days ago he told Sirius he wanted everyone to know and now that the perfect situation had presented itself, he didn't have much to say on the subject.
