He was so fucking pissed off and angry and just about ready to hex James's face off or something equally stupid if he saw him then. Sirius just didn't fucking get it. He had tried to help Lily. After all, James liked her, and things were going along well. Hell, the oven had helped James finally make progress with her. He had just been trying to help. But no, James had to get in a prissy fit over it. And Sirius had tried to hold back his annoyance at getting treated like shit for doing nothing wrong. He'd even tried to make a joke of the situation. More than once. But no, James just got irrationally mad for nothing.
Sirius had tried, had tried, had tried. And he was hating those fucking words. He wasn't claiming to have behaved perfectly, but everything he had written had to have been twisted in the worst possible way to get angry at him. So what was the point in trying to be a decent person when they were both assuming the worst of him and what he meant anyway. No fucking point. None.
Perhaps the two of them would get fucking closer over his "arsehole" behavior. He fucking hoped so or something. Nothing else good was fucking coming out of it. He hadn't even gotten to talk about the restraints with Moony, and the boy was sitting on his bed.
"I was trying to make it better," Sirius replied. They were jokes - humor. The idea of James wiggling his hips for some broken oven was...utterly ridiculous. That had been the whole point of the joke. "Won't make that mistake again."
