What: Running across a rather grizzly scene.

The night was on the cool side with the end of the year approaching too quickly. Two strangers with their heads down on their own missions to get somewhere else nearly collided at the mouth of an alleyway. As they lifted their gazes to each other, apologies or remarks on the tips of their tongues, a screech ripped through the night, inhuman enough to send chills down spines and raise gooseflesh along their arms.

Though they peered down the alley, what met their gazes was not a monster conjured out of their darkest nightmares, but splatters of blood along the brick walls of the buildings on either side of the alleyway. The scene a few feet further in may remind them of a nightmare, though: what little remained of a dead body slumped side-ways against the left side wall, entrails slithering out of the large cut that clearly cut the male in half, his legs sprawled out at the other side of the alley, large bites taken out of them, one arm completely missing.

Whatever had done this was nowhere in sight, at least....
