Who: Jean/Storm When: 1989 before the Sentinel program era Where: NYC What: Going shopping with Storm, plus trying to acclimate her to the states
Jean had more then once found Ororo naked. She wasn't bugged too much about it, however if she wanted to help Ororo become more accustomed to where she was now. Jean knew as much about Ororo as Xavier did, and both thought she would become a strong and reliant team member as long as they could get her to fit in just a bit more. That was Jean's mission today. Her mission was to go shopping, which was something that she liked to do, however, she was unsure just how much that Ororo had in her life in Cairo, Egypt, and then her homelands in Kenya. She knew that as a child she had basically ran the streets, and that all Ororo would tell her was that she wasn't always proud of what she had done to survive. What that was she didn't know, but as she walked out of her room, and headed toward Storm's rooms up in the Attic. No one new why she had chosen that room, or why she wanted to be so high, and in such a room that had an airy atmosphere with big french doors that opened out to the skies.
Jean knocked on her door, and when it was opened to her she smiled at the woman she was fast becoming friends with. It had been hard on Jean being the only girl on the team, and pretty much the first one too. Well, besides Scott, her and he were pretty close, but she was beginning to have a growing crush on him that no one knew about except maybe Xavier, as he seemed to know everything. Sometimes it bothered Jean, and other times it felt good to have someone that even though you might not voice it to them knew what was going on with you, and could act according. "You ready?" She asked Ororo. Ororo smiled back, she was wearing an eye-catching stretch foil lame halter plunge dress. It had a sequin trim band, and plunged down the front to reveal some of her stomach and stopped just a little below her belly button. The skirt barely covered her butt, and Jean didn't know what to say, let alone where she had got it from. Well, at least it was covering most her body? She sighed. "Ororo, do you own any t-shirts, or jeans, or pants or something?" she asked.
Ororo stepped out her doors and smiled. "Don't really like anything but dresses or really short, shorts. Anything else makes me feel like I can't really move much." It was true, Ororo wore the shortest things so she had most her leg movement at any given moment. Jean, sighed, that made since but the way that Ororo seemed to like to show off her body was sort of unnerving, and distracting to the other boys. However, she did know that Ororo was used to having no clothes on so probably even the little she did wear was too much. Then again, Jean had to worry about indecent exposure and Ororo ending up in jail for not enough clothes covering her. "Well, can you try? Only because if you don't start wearing a bit more covering you might end up in jail for indecent exposure."
Ororo walked down the stairs, no one knew about her claustrophobia, and so far she was going to keep it to herself. The main reason why she had wanted the upstairs room was because she couldn't handle too many walls around her, and being so high up in the building made her feel closer to the air that she loved so much. Keeping it secret was hard once she found out about both Jean and Xavier both being able to be telepaths. She didn't like it, but she also seemed to be strong willed enough to keep them out of certain parts of her mind. They walked to the garage, and Jean got into her own car.
They drove, and talked, getting closer. Jean was starting to understand Ororo a bit more, and so when they got to the mall they shopped around, got her some clothes, including some non-revealing sheathe looking dresses. And Jean was able to at least talk Ororo into one pair of low rise Capri jeans, and one short sleeved polo top. Whether she wore them it was unknown but she hoped she tried. Maybe she would like them?
