Summary: Hannah's first day as assistant manager. Let's see who she can run into or who runs into her.
Hannah spent most of her time in the pub portion of the Leaky Caudron ever since she'd moved from cook to waitress to hostess. She much preferred it to being stuck in the overly hot kitchen. if she wanted to cook, she usually went to her father's, but on occasion when she had Justin, Ernie, Zach, Susan, Olivia or someone else over, she would cook in the small kitchen that Tom had added to her room only a year ago.
Mostly the kitchen was Tom's way of saying thank you for all of her hard work. But it was also to give her something to do besides work all the time. She always did her best to help any and all of the patrons that came into the pub. It was the first thing Tom noticed when he made her a waitress, which was why after a few months doing that job, he set her as his assistant. When he wasn't around, she was in charge and he knew she could handle it.
Hannah took a breath and stepped out of her room to go down stairs. It was her first official day as assistant manager and Tom had decided to take a break and leave her fully in charge of the pub. She was nervous and she bit her fingernails as she walked down the stairs into the pub. It wasn't crowded yet, as it was only 9 o'clock in the morning and she hoped Tom was making the right decision putting her in charge.
She went behind the bar to speak with the bartender on duty and then she would be off to the kitchen to speak with the rest of the staff. It was going to be a long first day and Hannah knew it. But she was hoping that once she got into the swing of things on her own that it wouldn't be so bad. In fact, she knew it would be better than everything else she had done. She could do it. Yes, that's what she kept telling herself through the entire talk with the staff and even still as she stepped back into the pub to go to the office to see to some paperwork.
