When his expresso finally arrived, Asher did manage to restrain himself from being a total fool but his long fingered hands did wrap around the cup and he buried his nose in it. He could tell from the scent that it was already perfect.
Okay, so he was a coffee snob. He couldn't bring himself to be bothered by the fact.
He drank it with an almost single-mindedness, though he was actually paying attention to what Charlie was saying. His lips turned up in satisfaction at the corners.
"Mine wasn't as bad as yours," he said. "The lady was rather cooperative on the whole and didn't seem inclined to be bothersome like some, so I can't complain too much."
As the caffeine started to kick start his brain, Asher tilted his head slightly and regarded the stockier man. "D-didn't you used to work in Romania?" he asked, some long-ago bit of trivia echoing in his head.
