Charlie saw Asher enter and pause to smell the coffee. Oh, he's got it bad, he thought to himself and then looking down at the cup of coffee in front of him just had to smile. He signaled the waitress and by the time Asher got to the table, the espresso and cappuccino were almost made.
When Asher walked up with a hopeful expression and asking for the caffeine, Charlie waved him into a seat. "A few more moments and you will have your fix," he said.
After the initial bliss of sipping the espresso, Charlie leaned back in his chair. "Was your meeting as bad as mine?" he asked. "The damn fool HOD for the dragon bureau thinks I work for him. I'm just the liaison, I work for the Hebrides reserve. I'll have Mr. MacFusty point that out in a Howler or something." As he was talking, he watched Asher drinking his espresso. This was definitely someone that appreciated a good brew.
