Summary: Neville and Theodore meet in St.Mungo's and find that they're in a rather similar situation.
In retrospect Theodore could see that it had been a bad idea to come to St.Mungo's on his own. Sure, his ego had insisted he'd be fully capable of handling his old and ailing father but the fact alone that Miss Dilly, of Miss Dilly's Home for Old People, had looked so incredibly relieved at the statement should have warned him. But, as things were, it hadn't and Theodore now had a problem in the form of an appointment with the MindHealers who were to evaluate his father's mental health and the aforementioned father, who had no intention of being evaluated. In fact, Ambrosius Nott was putting up a considerable fight and was currently yelling at a potted plant, growing more and more agitated in the process.
Theodore pinched the bridge of his nose against in impending headache and turned to the EntryWitch. "Nott, Ambrosius. Appointment at 2 o'clock. Could you please..." A noise behind his back caught Theodore's attention and the Slytherin whirled around only to see his father attack the plant.
"Father, no!" He said firmly and gently pried the old man off the innocent plant, his face burning with embarrassment. "He's got a bad day." Theodore told the Entry-Witch who merely gave him a sharp look and yelled for a Healer who, fortunately, appeared only moments later, Ambrosius' folder under his arm.
"Mr. Nott." The Healer said with a curt nod and Theodore sighed. Another one of those who saw the former Death Eater in his father and not the old man in need of help. Of course, the old man didn't help. He glowered at the Healer, then turned to look at Theodore whom he didn't seem to recognize.
"It's okay, father." Theodore said and gave him a gentle push into the direction of the examination room. "It's just regular tests and then..."
"Father?" Ambrosius asked and raised his eyebrows in a regal gesture reminiscent of the man he used to be. "Who do you think you are?"
Theodore sighed again, giving the Healer a pleasing look but the man seemed to have momentarily gone deaf. "Your son, remember? The progeny. The offspring. Fruit of your loins?"
Finally the Healer seemed to have woken up from his stupor and, with a satisfied smile, took Ambrosius' arm to lead him into the examination room, too obviously pleased of seeing a Death Eater reduced to this. Glaring, Theodore retreated to the wall and slumped on the bench to start waiting until the examination was done while the Entry-Witch returned to her article in 'WitchWeekly'.
