Summary: Seamus and Aidan bond over the Kenmare Kestrals.
Seamus was just leaving Diagon Alley after a bit of a shopping spree. Every so often, even a boy had to splurge and buy things he wanted. In Seamus's case, that had included a couple of skin care potions, a new broom cleaning kit, some owl treats, some new dress robes (for a formal he'd offered to take his mum to), and the new biography on the Kenmare Kestrals' keeper. It had been a while since he'd been to the Leaky Cauldron, so for nostalgia's sake, Seamus entered the pub and found an empty table. He had just ordered his drink when he heard some blokes on the other side of the bar talking animatedly about Quidditch teams.
People could get quite rowdy about sports teams, as Seamus knew all too well, being a pub owner himself. But Quidditch fans usually were not as brash and scary as football fans could become. However, these two patrons of the Leaky Cauldron were doing all they could to make up the difference. It wasn't as if Seamus were trying to eavesdrop; it was hard not to hear what was being said. The point of contention seemed to be the final goal in the last Kenmare Kestrals game versus the Appleby Arrows. Even though the seeker for the Arrows had caught the snitch, the Kestrals still had scored enough goals to win by just 10 points.
And that was the sore spot for Arrows fans. They couldn't let it go. Seamus had been there to see it. It had been a fair goal and had gone through the hoop. However, Arrows fans contended that it had actually been wide right. Not really talking to anyone, Seamus shook his head. "It was a fair goal," he commented. He had no interest in joining in the argument across the bar.
