Michael grinned once he saw Cho stop. He'd noticed her say his name, but she didn't exactly look happy to see him. That was weird! Michael was quite sure that though he'd been immature when she left school, they hadn't departed on bad terms. Had he done something he wasn't aware of? He never could be sure. . .
Nonetheless, Michael never dropped the smile and decided just to be nice and polite, and then if he was, perhaps he could figure out what he'd done or at least how to fix it. Or, even better, perhaps he was just misreading her face and she was merely surprised to see him. It didn't have to be anything bad, did it? Michael was just worrying too much. Hopefully, anyway.
"How are you?" he asked. Michael would normally hug old friends, but the hand clutched tightly to her chest made him suspect that would not be a good move. So instead he stood a ways back from her, though enough that he wouldn't need to raise his voice because of the crowd. "You look well," he continued, complimenting her easily and immediately, hoping he was just wrong about her reaction.
