RP: That Girl I Used to Know When: October 18, 2003 Who: Cho Chang and Michael Corner Private/Public: Semi-Private Rating: PG Summary: Michael and Cho haven't seen each other in over five years - until now.
Michael rarely took off in the middle of a workday to go anywhere. He always felt like he had more work on his desk than he could handle. However, he'd had such a splitting headache that he'd actually left the office to floo into Diagon Alley's apothecary to get the strongest headache cure they had. He was to the point that he was seeing spots, so it really had become a necessity. As he walked through the main street, the light was making him feel sick to his stomach.
It felt like an eternity before he stood in front of the shop. Pushing the door in, Michael didn't look around to see who he might know. He usually did, but right now his one and only focus was making his head feel better. He ordered the potion and waited, as they didn't have any of the one he wanted in stock. He flopped in one of the chairs meant for these occasions as the potion was made. He leaned against the wall and shut his eyes. This was time wasted from work, which probably meant he was falling behind. That thought made him wince. No matter what, Michael felt like there were so many legal briefs being entered that if he took a day or two off, it would totally overwhelm him. He didn't want to ask any of the other clerks for help because he'd feel stupid.
It took fifteen minutes before his name was called, and he downed the potion right in the shop before paying for it. It would take a few minutes for him to begin feeling better, but Michael figured he should make his way back to the Ministry anyway. As he left the apothecary, Michael froze while still in the doorway. Walking past was a girl Michael hadn't seen in more than five years. Surely he wasn't mistaken. . . No, no, that was indeed Cho Chang.
"Cho!" he called, letting the door slam as he walked quickly to catch up to her.
