Bill sighed. "Talking of children," he muttered. "I know they will. I tried talking to her about it, but I think it would have gone better if I'd talked to Victoire instead." He tugged his earring. "I have no idea what to do about her, because as she keeps reminding us, she's 'of age.'"
Some days Gabrielle made his head hurt far more than his own daughter. He loved her dearly, of course, and worried over her, but he had no idea how to get through to her about most things.
He knew he probably looked like a fool with the grin on his face, but he couldn't help it. He did love his wife, very much. "Thanks," he told Percy. He just wished that Percy could have come to the wedding, though he understood why he hadn't.
He ran a hand through his hair. "I didn't really disagree with you, Percy," he said quietly, "even if I didn't really agree either. I know it's no proper excuse, but I had a lot on my plate at the time." He nodded, though. "She is strong, yes. You should have heard her--I am good looking enough for the both of us, I theenk." He put on the French accent and had a fond grin on his face--she really had stood up to his mother, something most people didn't dare to do.
