"Big brother is only nearly all powerful, not quite omniscient, reasonably wise man," Bill said, only somewhat dryly. "But I'll try the best I can to pretend I know everything, if that will help."
Bill chuckled. "I think it's easiest to be concerned about others and not ourselves." He sometimes had the inkling that he was a little more like their mother in some ways than he felt comfortable with, but he didn't interfere all the time, just on occasion. "Sometimes a little interference is good, but not too much." Which was a line Bill tried to tread.
Bill shook his head. "Yes, something to look forward to," he said with a faint frown. He knew he would cave to that, though, at least some of the time. "I'm actually rather dreading the teenage years." His eyes strayed to Gabi and he remembered their talk awhile ago. "Really not looking forward to those."
