Terra snuggled her neck back into the fur of her collar. It was a simple motion that made all of the October air feel worth it. She was dressed for the chill, with the fake fur collar and cuffs of her jean jacket. Her straight leg jeans were tucked into her brown boots that she had used up almost a full day's wages to purchase. They were worth it though. She watched a car zoom past her on the street with some interest. Then she shook her head. Their tire was going to blow, it was so flat, especially with them driving at that speed. Seriously, the intelligence of some made her weep for her race. She was only just outside the park, on one of the benches. Her bike was parked nearby. It was a nice place to rest before she had to go home and fix herself dinner. Alone again. Crossing her arms, she took another sip of the frozen coffee drink, chewing the straw a bit as she contemplated the earth in front of her. Reaching back, she touched the smooth orange stone that was in her skin under her hair. Well, a little fun couldn't hurt right? She felt it warm before she actually reached for the power that it held. The flecks of dirt that covered the sidewalk in front of her brown boots started shifting, almost like a wind was blowing them. Grinning, she leaned forward, crossing her arms over her knees as she attentively watched from the park bench. They swirled and condensed. Her eyes looked up as she checked her surroundings quickly. Then she bent to her task, her attention now focused completely on the earth now swirling to the same point, deliberately. Her teeth still idly chewed the straw in her mouth, but now she didn't even remember its presence in her conscious mind. It twisted up together until it formed a tiny, human like shape. It took in tiny stones and sand that had winded up in the cracks in the sidewalk. It grew a bit before it stretched its arms out to the sides, then dropped them. It bowed to her. Then it marched in deliberate steps in a circle. Terra chuckled before letting it dissolve into a tiny pool of dirt that was quickly taken by the wind. Really, she thought, shaking her head. The things that amused her sometimes. She looked over her right shoulder at the sky. |
