"No, I would probably have given you frostbite somewhere embarrassing," Severus agrees, "or burned your hands. I wasn't very good at backing down as a child, and Mam would have thumped me proper just for letting my guard down, never mind looking outside myself for help."
Severus doesn't touch Rodolphus, but makes his clothes and the air around him get warmer.
"You'd still be trying it next week," Severus comments, "assuming you weren't only just waking up from being kicked."
"Yes." He makes a face. "And they've rather gone out. The modern muggle version sells sweets and cigarettes and magazines."
"We could go back to that gastropub," Severus proposes, giving the lot of them a rather distracted wave. "The bottles in their bar had dust on, not just grime, and the owner looks the type to keep a dartboard and board games under the table. I'll bet you another slice of that chocolate monstrosity I could whip you flat in Clew."
Sev is apparently insisting on Shavian spelling. He means Clue. Perrrrrrfect. :D I'd really rather they were talking a sequel to the Trek one. (sigh) Was supposed to go see Avatar in 3D with dad and a friend tonight, but fell through. Heh. Well, this one also has cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and cardamom. You have a point, though. (eyes remaining eggnog thoughtfully)
