Rus peers at Severus' nose. "That's a good thing, is it?" Pause. "And did said future include organ removal by any chance?" he asks hopefully.
"An added-to heirloom. It went to the eldest daughter and a stone was added when she married. I wonder who ended up with it?"
"If I ever meet one, I'll ask?" Rus tells him, utterly unfazed by the idea.
"Unless you put a spell on the gingerbread, what's the point when you can have the real thing?" he asks, unaware of Severus' near-snappage.
Rus' eyes do a 'what did I tell you?' roll. "New in town," he says with a long-suffering sigh. "Well, I am." He nods at Severus. "Seth there has been here a bit longer. So, are we good enough for you or what? Yon," he nods at T1, "said you weren't easily impressed."
Well, sometimes bastard can mean annoying; it hardly means illegitimate any more. Maybe they're lulling you into a false sense of complacency and you'll find beads all over the place when you wake up! :D
