"And I've already given up once," Severus returns, cravat moving oddly as muscles in his throat twitch. "All right," he says softly, dialing the intensity down, or trying. "You just... It's... it's a heavy world, you know; if once put it down it might roll anywhere." And sometimes he thinks other Slytherins are just as bad as Gryffs, when it comes to predicting probable consequence.
"Only if it's a fire-using wolf," points out Severus, who is a pedant and prefers his fairy tales to make some sort of sense.
"And you," Severus returns, with a perfectly cordial smile.
He looks sheepish, but stubborn, and very much like someone who feels loads better now that someone else has gone off with a well-deserved flea in their ear. "His assumptions were irritating and grating, and it's that I forgot to act. If you want to go tell him their error was in coming before I was sufficiently relaxed and if they wait ten minutes and come back more reasonable once you've gotten me more drunk, be my guest. But I was right and you know it. I don't mind being taken for inept in these circumstances, but why should we put up with being taken for scum? Besides, you wanted to fleece them, and he might have gone up to, what thirty percent? Hardly satisfying."
And lots and lots of ibuprofin. :/ Awww, thanks. ^,^ ....Oh nooooooo. :(((( And it looks like this will be the Holmes player's first movie, and this is the synopsis: "Sherlock Holmes battles and finally outwits Spring-Heeled Jack, a super criminal having the power to make astounding jumps with his rocket-enforced armor." (weeps)
