"Oh, there's no danger of that," he assures Rus, trying on joviality for size. It doesn't fit very well, but entertains him anyway.
Severus pats him comfortingly on the arm.
He shrugs. "You'll remember I spent a few weeks there in aide of the service. Afterwards, I refused to believe they could not be fought."
"So have I," he says drily. "That's my point. I suppose they're not entirely bland, but look, they're grainy; you can even see where the powder hasn't quite dissolved. The sauce's base is mostly likely old enough to have lost intensity." This is really far more Severus than Seth, but he can't help himself. Incompetent brewing* of any kind just slams down hard on his buttons.
"I don't know," Severus says, joining T1 in amusement for different reasons, "I think putting a blindfold on him would make it more interesting." He doesn't want to seem too eager to get to the part where money's involved.
* Cookery is the brewing of nutrition potions, whose recipes allow for infinite variations to taste. Severus is a good brewer, and a good cook, but also an experimental brewer and at times a rather strange cook. Hm, or both! (crosses fingers!)
