You were right, though; Lex does have a day-by-day calendar for events in the series, and it was quite clear. :)
Severus makes a sure-thing sort of noise, and looks to see if the waiter's coming around again yet.
"Well, you knyeow how it is, old thing," Severus drawls back, raising his glass with an affected wrist, "despite the best intyentions in the world, one syimply ends not wyeonting to tyeake the tayime."* Back to his normal voice, "What did you mean, then?"
"How is the quest proceeding?" he asks, genuinely interested, and laughs, unusually mellow with unusual amounts of fatigue, food and alcohol. "You'd be the only one who can't then," he chuckles. "We'll have to see what can be done as far as floor plans, but yes, I suppose some sort of arrangements for discretion should be prepared for."
"And a pleasing thought as regards that old cat who so despises utilitarianism she can't even provide her own bottles," he smirks.
"What, trick-or-treat?" Getting buzzed around Rodolphus, he reflects, annoyed with his own reactions, is invariably a bad idea, whether Rus is in a dangerous mood or a good one. He gives Rus a spare nod back. "See me before you go after the boomslang; I'll work you up some antivenin--no, I don't think you're careless; just in case." He hesitates. "Rus--you understand about the drying, do you? Only I don't think Borage covered more than the potion's basics; he generally didn't. Twit," he adds offhandedly, still annoyed with Borage's series despite how much usefully vengeful fun he and Evans had gotten out of correcting and expanding on it.
