"Good grief," he utters, entertained, and passes Rus a glass of water before he chokes.
"Oh, I wouldn't say that," he says wryly. "But it's always been a thousand times more convenient to live where I worked when not actually mandatory, and I've never worked for myself before." Bemused, he asks, "Are you really eating that without any seasonings?"
"Well, I doubt I'd say it no," he says lightly. "But I had in mind that it would be a great savings to avoid the market on some of the pricier ingredients. --By which I mean gather, not steal," he adds hastily, lest anyone should get the wrong idea. "So a good deal of it would be rather more literal hunting." He turns a sharp-edged smile at Rodolphus. "You could also take over Complaints if you wanted. Not that I can't deal with them myself, but time is time."
