"Oh, both," he replies readily, and smiles. "I'm not confusing them, Gaav-sama. If I were, I wouldn't think he needed protection. Or my help. Rezo was the strongest person I've ever known--in his mind, in his magic, in his faith, and the Bright Lady knows," he rolls his eyes, "in his self-esteem."
Neither repelled nor a fool enough to pull away quickly or roughly, Xel holds to the kiss for a moment before smiling and turning his head to rest his temple against Gaav's cheek. "Ararara," he says softly, "now, that's another matter. Do you let me bargain for his protection and only when it's sealed tell me he doesn't care about me, that what I do doesn't matter to him? Sneakier than I thought you, Gaav-sama."
Just wanted to be clear what he was really talking about, since I know your church is important to you. :) Yeah, the corruption and other foibles of the nobility are what drive him crazy--although I must admit that he doesn't have huge amounts of patience for religions that essentially, in his view, worship Ceiphied instead of L-sama. ;)
...Ack, that up there was badly put, hang on, sorry for spam...
