Q nods slowly, listening to Remus, slotting what he's being told into what he's found out. "The initial steps sound a lot like simple meditation," he says. "Taking the peyote enhances your ability to visualise yourself in another form."
"There's a bit of trepidation there, yes," he admits to Sirius, entering the running for understatement of the year.
"You mean," Q frowns, wanting to get this right, "when I transform, there's the danger that I won't be able or won't want to change back? And that's done as a safeguard?"
Q swallows. "Of course I'm willing," he says promptly, though he pales at the thought. "Provided you're not going to cut my head open and poke around." He smiles wanly at his attempt at humour.
Remus is coming through loud and clear. Actually, so is Sirius, but Q seems to take things better from R than from S. Go fig! ;)
