The brave/foolish cook snorts. "He's scared to death of lawyers, I know that. And he hardly ever goes out, so..." He shrugs. He's not sure if Rincewind actually lives here or what (or how), but he's never been here when Rincewind isn't.
Dave rolls his eyes. "How'd he manage that? There's no lock on the door." He opens the door and Rincewind peeks out. "Is it safe?" he asks. "Depends on what you mean by safe," Dave tells him. Rincewind gives a resigned sigh and exits, taking the dough over to Xellos.
Oi! Wise-arse!" Chet (the brave/foolish one) calls. "Can you fetch the rum and that banana stuff Iago keeps on the top shelf of the bar?" That ought to be good for a laugh. Dave goes to the pantry and brings out the golden syrup and the honey. "Lets try both," he suggests.
Finally figured out who Xel reminds me of! Or rather, I'm re-reading the book that the character is in. It's been bugging me for the longest time.
