Xel fights the urge to smack his forehead; he'd at least hoped Rincewind would manage to fall on the floor. Instead, he looks at the kitchen in 'wide-eyed horror' and points at the table of rowdies in a cheerfully suspicious I-blame-you-for-this gesture.
Click-clicking back to the kitchen (after putting the steak on the griller), he surveys the carnage for a moment, makes a gesture at the platewear, and neatly plucks the hat off Rincewind's head before he can rise.
The one he replaces it with is also pointy (he's not completely a monster, after all), but is very obviously made of smashed crockery.
