"I guess enough," Rodolphus answers Lucius. "Some quarter of a million pounds," he adds nonchalantly. "I fell in with some smugglers in Perth. When the opportunity presented itself, I took the money." He grins. "They didn't need it anymore."
"Well, I wouldn't be living with them," he says of muggles. "But I suppose here would be better. You seem to have done well for yourself Lucius," Rodolphus waves a hand at the well-appointed study and, by implication, the rest of the house. "What is it that you do here?"
"I wouldn't try to shock you with words Severus," Rodolphus tells him with a scowl. "Letters? What letters? Who to?"
I just want to say that having to write that last bit pained the English major in me to the quick! ;)
