Taking place, say, a couple of days after previous thread?
There's a tap at the window, and he looks up from his reading. There's an owl from Derwent's -- he can tell from the scroll of dark, violet parchment its carrying, as well as from the fact that it's the same owl that had tried to present him with a bill [no, not the beak kind -- or at least, not just the beak kind] two days ago.
Getting up from his desk, he moves over to the window and waits for the owl to move before he opens it out.
"Is the order complete this time?"
About three-quarters of the total ordered items had arrived earlier, and he'd sent it back along with a note that reminded them that he'd specifically said they weren't to send anything until the entire order was complete.
The owl gives him an impatient look and holds out its leg, offering up the parchment.
"I'll take that as a yes. All right. Let the others know," he says, as he takes the parchment. The owl zips off, and he opens the window wider, before heading into the kitchen for payment.
By the time he's come back, carrying a plate that's piled with... Well, probably best not to ask. By the time he's come back, the original owl has returned, along with four others, all wearing the markings of Derwent's. And an enormous package, wrapped up in dark, purple fabric and tied with creamy white ribbon...
...which Sirius rips through in less the a second, while the owls feed on the... payment.
He quickly identifies the items that he's ordered for himself, and pulls them out and sets them aside.
"Reparo." The package wraps itself back up again, with the tears in the fabric closing over, the ribbon unripping and retying itself neatly, and the purple and cream seal unshattering and sticking down the package once more.
One of the owls looks up at him expectantly. "Not yet," he tells it, moving away from the perches [provided because birds that perch on his furniture soon regret it and this way, they've no excuse]. "Keep eating and I'll tell you when it's ready to go."
Another of the owls -- he's pretty sure it's one of the ones that tried to press the incomplete package on him earlier -- looks up from feeding and gives him a pointed Look.
"I very clearly stated that the order wasn't to be dispatched until it was complete. If you have a problem with that, you'll need to take it up with your post officer," he says, turning back to his desk.
He unrolls a fresh scroll of parchment, and -- after six or seven one or two false starts, manages the following:
Severus,
The items you require have arrived, and I am sending them on to you. Please also find enclosed the original list that you wrote out for me, and check this against the invoice included with the order.
You will see that your items have been invoiced separetely to my own, however, in addition to the items requested, I have added a set of damascene scalpels, which I find invaluable for fine work. Also included are two sets of phials -- 1 dozen in tempered glass, and 1 dozen in hand-cut obsidian. You hadn't specified which you preferred in your list. If you don't need either, they can be returned with the courier.
I have been assured that the order is complete, but have not verified this myself. If anything is missing or sub-standard, I will expect you to so advise me before making alternative arrangements.
If everything is in order, then I will expect to hear from you once the product can be picked up. As well, you will need to give me an estimate of the cost of your labour (itemised for number of hours completed by you, and those completed by your apprentice, and the rate for each hour), as well as advise me as to how you wish to be paid.
He reads over the note to make sure he hasn't left anything out, then signs it simply with regards from Sirius Black, and seals it with silver and black wax.
"Ready to go?" he asks the parliament of owls still feasting on the... payment. "This is to go to Severus Snape, who's staying with Professor McGonagall. You've been paid, so no trying to get any further payment out of him or the Professor. And you're to wait until he'd checked the contents before you fly back to Derwent."
