Holmes takes the packages and listens to Dora ramble. He leans over to inspect her ear. "Very nice," he tells her. "Iago and I really must teach you to fence Miss Dora. Then, with that and your parrot, you can be a proper pirate."
He picks up the packages. "Very colourful," he murmurs and he carefully unwraps them, being careful not to tear the paper. He inhales sharply when he sees the books. "Oh my!" He opens the history and looks at the printers mark. "These are wizarding books." Not quite a question, not quite an exclamation. "Newt Scamander?" he says, looking at the other book. "What a magnificent name!" He pages through the book, glancing at the pictures. "I wonder what Darwin would say about this!" he chuckles. Holmes looks at Dora, his eyes warm. "These are precious gifts Miss Dora. I have never seen their like. Thank you very much. I shall treasure them always."
I got all misty at this. I'm just an old soppy really! :)
