At least in baseball terms, that is. Let's talk some spring training. What's up with the teams the community members follow?
For instance, when a team goes into spring training with a "surplus" of pitching this really means that they'll be fine unless someone gets hurt during camp. The Brewers supposedly had a surplus of starters, then Yovani Gallardo promptly blows out his knee the day before he's supposed to report.
The same thing goes for the Red Sox. Despite those "we're not panicking" types of quotes after the reports of Curt Schilling's injury came out, two weeks after pitchers reported the Sox are looking for loose pitchers under the league's couch cushions. They've just signed Bartolo Colón and apparently Freddy Garcia is looking around the premises for some undisclosed reasons. If there are any Kyle Lohse sightings, we know the Sox are in serious trouble. |
