Oh, yes yes yes, I DID want that read into this piece! What you say about Draco trying not to pass the anti-mudblood attitudes onto his son because it's not politic--exactly, exactly. I felt like I wanted to go on and on about how Draco still had the damn prejudices so that he wouldn't feel too watered down, but I knew that was going to bog down the pacing of this tiny plot. It's not as if, by censoring the word mudblood, Draco will make sure his son isn't going to absorb any of his prejudices, because they're still there in everything he thinks and many things he does, and don't think the kid won't pick up on that.
