Elijah was starting to wish they could leave, but he knew Klaus would never give up his plans to take over New Orleans and of course Elijah wasn't about to abandon his brother. Klaus needed someone to stand by his side, and no matter how times Klaus betrayed him Elijah always was the first to come to his aid. It didn't matter how many times Klaus turned on him Elijah was loyal to family, and that was a part of himself he just couldn't imagine changing. He didn't care how much trouble his compassion got him into trouble on occasion. He didn't want to lose that part of himself, because he was worried that it would cause him to lose what humanity he had retained all these years. So, even though he wanted to run and make his life elsewhere he couldn't do that and leave his brother or all of these innocents in the clutches of Marcel. For the moment he decided to let Hayley get some rest and he was going out for a walk. He was sure there was a few stores in this place that he could learn more about what was going on, but he had to be careful because of Marcel. The last thing he wanted to do was tip off the other vampire too soon. Of course Elijah wanted nothing more than to kill Marcel fo his recent actions, but they had to be smart about this. If they were smart and did this right they would actually be able to keep the town for a longer period of time, because they might be able to woo some of Marcel's followers over to their side. Once Elijah had finished the book he had started reading that morning he made his way out the front door and on to the sidewalk. It was a pleasant enough day, so he had decided to walk insted of taking one of the many cars they had access to. Walking also allowed him to see more of the town. Sure he had lived here before, but the town had changed since then so there was still a few things he could learn. Elijah was the type that liked to learn as much as he could, so of course this was the best thing in the world for him. As he made his way down the sidewalk he looked inside each of the shops, wondering which was would be the best place to start. In the end he decided on a shop that seemed to have older looking objects...an atique store. It was one of his favorite kinds of stores, because it had things he had seen all through his life. Inside he spotted a kindly old man behind the counter, but he also knew now to be decieved by the side. There could always be more to the man than met the eye. This world certainly was full of things that would most people just chose not to see. He wound up buying a few smaller things and then he left the store, his mood a little lifted now. As he walked farther down the sidewalk he spotted a coffee shop up ahead and he decided that would be his next stop. Once he made it to the door he made his way inside and headed straight up to the counter. He ordered himself a cup of coffee just to make himself fit in and then he headed back to one of the tables. He took a seat and decided to sit and people watch for a while, because that was always a good way to learn something about the residents of any town. |
