Nineteen tried to keep his eyes open but as his blood continued to flow, consciousness began to slip away. He heard her address him but the words sounded as if they were echoing from far away. The large man knew that there would be a score to settle sooner than later, but the beating he had coming was worth it since she would still be very much alive. He tried to find something to say but as his eyelids closed Nineteen passed out.
It took a moment for his focus to return but the ghostly image of a boy suddenly appeared a few feet away, staring down at his corporal body as it bled out. He listened to the Slayer speak and finally spoke up. "Angel paid a heavy price to see you safe from harm, but it was a price he paid willingly. To rush into the fray and lose your life would dishonor the sacrifice of your friend."
