Mai crossed her arms over her chest defiantly - a look that had remained consistent since they were children - and she peered down at Mai in the corner of her eye. "Do you really think any other color would suit me, Ty Lee?" It wasn't entirely meant as contrary, after all, she was humoring Ty Lee's whole 'colored aura' shtick and all.
Carefully poised, but noticeably brooding, Mai paced a good couple of meters away from the tent. She didn't really care, but it would be more inconvenient than not to have Azula overhear any inkling of candid conversation between the two girls. If she took one thing wrong, she'd start ranting about some crazy conspiracy or some nonsense.
"It's not like I'd expect her to not hold her own in there or anything, but even if she is our...'friend'..." She strained a bit to choke those words out, "...I don't like following blindly. For anyone."
