\Azula scoffed and cast her eyes to Mai, amused at her resistance. She was so touchy today! Granted, everyone was a little on-edge given the spectacular failure that had just occurred, but that was no reason for Mai not to trust her. Honestly. Didn’t' the girl know anything at all? Yes, Azula did enjoy "watching the weak suffer," as Mai had so aptly put it, but that didn't mean that "suffering" was necessarily the same thing as "pain." Pain was a useful tool, but in the long run Azula found humiliation to be much more effective.
"Oh Mai. Where's your creativity? Making people scream is so... passé.." She gave her head a little shake. "Besides, too many people expect it. Don't you think it would be much more fun to let the War Minister choose his own punishment? It's only fair, after all."
