Shukr Brown Twill Military-Style "Frontier" Dress, Size 3XL, $15 Long cocoa-brown 100% cotton shirtwaist full length dress, military-styling, from Shukr Islamic Clothing. It comes with a belt, which has seen better days (one of the grommets is missing) and one of the side seams split and was resewn together by the seamstress at my cleaners, but you can't really see that when the dress is on. It's cotton and has been washed many times, so therefore will not shrink. It has very pretty antique brass buttons with a pearl centre. I debated about selling it because I wore it a lot, but it was an $80 dress that is no longer available and it still looks great--it's just so big on me, now, that when I pull it in with the belt it's two inches above my ankles. It is rather high-waisted--not quite an empire waist--but in a flattering way, and quite forgiving of a big hip to waist ratio. The skirt is very wide and has lots of godets that make it flare out. I used to call it "the Browncoat Dress".

Bust: 54" DOES NOT STRETCH. Looked awesome on a 50-52" bust. Waist: 50" DOES NOT STRETCH. Looked awesome on a 44" waist and could probably fit up to a 46"; is meant to be belted. Hip: 60" due to skirt with lots of godets. Length: About 54"; the website says 57" but I'm pretty sure it shrank a little. Weight: 40 ounces. Don't say it.
This is me wearing the dress, on the far right. (The other two people are my friend Martha, on the left, and Ron Moore, in the middle. You may have heard of him. This was taken the night they did that one BSG podcast at someone's house and he sounded really drunk--because he so was. The someone whose house this was at is someone that Martha and I know.)
This is a stock photo of the dress in a slightly lighter colour than the one I'm selling. I'm a terrible photographer; the colour is pretty accurate in our photos, but this is a much crisper picture of the dress details. The stock photo does not, however, adequately portray how much flare the skirt of the dress really has; sadly, no-one I know has taken a picture of me twirling like an idiot in it, because I try not to do that where people can SEE ME.
With and without belt, above.
Longer picture. This dress has a very wide skirt and I can't get it all in the picture. I loved this dress so much, I hate to sell it, but it looks ridiculous on me now, so it's gotta go.
